Stuck at Home With Neville was inspired by a quilling project Inspire Art organizes for their art education events. This short was also created for Episode 1 of Animation Wild Card—a group Catalyst Castle helps organize to support animation artists while many big studios are closed during the pandemic (and beyond).

Behind the Scenes
This short was created in my home studio during the Covid-19 stay at home order. I'm fortunate that with a little ingenuity, stop motion animation can be done outside of a big studio environment.
STORYBOARDING
The story for this kids' activity how-to video was portrayed using a mixed media approach. The short is mostly stop motion animation with live-action bumpers. This approach meant that most of the fabrication and props were human scale. The shots were composed of tabletop style animation and downshooter style animation. The color scene mostly stayed in the pastel realm, drawing from a 1950's inspired palette.
